Handmark Pocket Express Bundled With Palm Treo 650 (August 15, 2005)

Handmark(R), a global leader in mobile media, today announced that a free 30-day subscription to the Handmark Pocket Express(TM) wireless news and information service is bundled with the Palm(R) Treo(TM) 650 from Verizon Wireless. Pocket Express delivers seven different categories of services, from door-to-door maps to Doppler weather, sports scores and much more, up to 30 times faster and with 80 percent fewer keystrokes than browser-based alternatives.

Pocket Express adds productivity, convenience and fun to the Treo 650 smartphone from Verizon Wireless by offering users fast and accurate information about the subjects that are most important to them.  Just like the Treo 650 itself, Pocket Express fits today's busy lifestyle and connects people to the world around them more efficiently than ever before.

Handmark bundles seven wireless services into Pocket Express including news, stocks, weather, sports, 411 directory search, movie details, maps and directions.  Winner of the 2004 DEMOgod(TM) award at the prestigious DEMOmobile wireless/technology industry showcase and a Codie awards finalist, Pocket Express gives subscribers mobile capabilities they never had before. For example, users can obtain a business address from the Pocket Express 411 directory service, map the route to the business from their current location anywhere in the U.S. using Express Maps, then place the address directly into their address book.

"Users of the Treo 650 smartphone from Verizon Wireless will find Pocket Express to be their most used service enhancement," said Douglas Edwards, Handmark co-founder and executive vice president.  "The Treo 650 is all about versatility, speed, and all-in-one convenience.  Pocket Express adds to those benefits with powerful information useful at both work and play."

The Treo 650 smartphone from Verizon Wireless combines a phone, personal organizer, camera with video capture capability, QWERTY keyboard, stereo audio, speakerphone and more, in a compact device small enough to fit in a shirt pocket.  When combined with data services from Verizon Wireless, the Treo 650 also delivers email, web access, and messaging.(1)  An optional expansion card also enables MP3 music capability, while the Treo 650's onboard Bluetooth(R) technology allows users to connect wirelessly to other Bluetooth- equipped devices.

The free 30-day subscription of Pocket Express is available via a bonus software CD that ships with every Verizon Wireless Treo 650 smartphone.  Treo 650 purchasers can also download the 30-day trial copy of Pocket Express at http://express.handmark.com .  Subscriptions to Pocket Express are priced at just $6.99 a month or $69.99 a year.  For more information, visit http://www.verizonwireless.com or http://express.handmark.com .
