KeepTree Modernizes Pen Pal Program by Utilizing Video(January 09, 2014)
New York, NY (PRWEB) January 09, 2014
Today KeepTree, Inc. announced the launch of a pilot video pen pal program allowing students from participating schools to share private videos with each other. The first four schools participating in the program are located in Merrick, New York and Prague, Czech Republic. The video pen pal program allows kids to share information about what it is like to grow up in their respective countries, the different subjects they learn about in school and unique aspects about each others culture. By utilizing video, the kids create a much more personalized connection with each other and get to put a face and voice behind their pals.
The initial pilot program was launched last month and plans to expand in the 1st Quarter of 2014 are currently in progress. KeepTree has already received requests from schools in Japan and the UK also interested in participating. By utilizing the KeepTree platform, the participating schools create their own private Tree where videos created can be monitored by teachers and parents. The KeepTree private video sharing platform gives students a powerful tool to communicate with and learn about cultures all around the world. In addition to the pen pals, ESL (English Second Language) students in New York are documenting their English learning process. They can then share their videos with friends and family in the United States as well as back in their native countries.
Exchanging videos that can be saved forever by students is the natural evolution of pen pal exchanges. Our technology will give kids from one part of the world a glimpse into the lives of other kids. Its very powerful, says Founder and CEO of KeepTree, Inc., Jon Loew.
The KeepTree.com platform consists of many unique features that make it a great video communication tool. All videos are private, secure and safely stored in the KeepTree video vault and can never be damaged or lost. The user always has complete control of who can view their videos. FutureSend is another unique feature that allows users to record a video and send it immediately or 30 years in the future. In addition, the iPhone and Android apps allow users to utilize the platform anyplace, anytime. These same features make KeepTree a great video sharing and storage tool in a variety of other situations including sending video birthday messages, holiday greetings or even just sharing a funny story with friends. These video moments are then safely stored forever and can be enjoyed for generations.
The video exchange has been going great so far. The kids are excited when they get a response from Prague and when they get to make a new video to send back, says Sherry Ma Merrick, NY School System.
