syracuse.com Launches New High School Sports Smartphone Apps with Advance Internet and Mobile IQ

  (August 30, 2011)

Syracuse, NY (PRWEB) August 30, 2011

syracuse.com has launched new Android and iPhone smartphone apps covering high school sports teams throughout Central New York.

The Central NY High School Sports Android app and the Central NY High School Sports iPhone app feature content from the number one Central New York news, sports and information website in affiliation with The Post-Standard.

Theres not another source out there that comes close to offering such up-to-the-minute information about high school sports, said Charlie Miller, social media manager at The Post-Standard. Fans can customize it to see just your favorite team, your teams rivals or every team in every sport.

The apps are free for consumers to download and use. Fans are able to select and save their favorite teams to appear on the home screen of the app. Users who select favorite teams will see each teams latest game scoreboard and upcoming schedule. They also will have the option of requesting push alert notifications whenever any of their favorite teams has completed a game.

We are very excited to expand our ever-growing mobile offerings to include our high school sports fans, said Michele Sardinia, general manager of syracuse.com. The new app allows our users to engage and interact with high school sports content in a convenient, meaningful way.

The apps are available for download at no charge in the iTunes App Store and the Android Market. They were developed and launched with Advance Internet and Mobile IQ. The technology development firm Mobile IQ worked with Advance Internet to provide a unique and engaging smartphone app experience for the millions of high school sports fans using Advance Internet sites, including syracuse.com the leading local source of high school sports news and information in Central New York.

The apps will leverage Advance Internets custom-built high school sports platform, which manages news, stats, standings and schedules in 44 sports. There are 110,000 team pages for users to choose from across all Advance Internet markets. The platform generates more than 100 million page views a year.
