procreate and The Art Institutes Team Up to Deliver Digital Art Class at Macworld

Digital Art Class Brings Creativity to Life on the Trade Show Floor (January 07, 2002)
The Digital Art Class debuts today at Macworld San Francisco. Sponsored by procreate along with The Art Institutes, the Digital Art Class (booth #2139) brings together the latest creative technologies to provide attendees with a hands-on, digital life drawing class right on the trade show floor.

Complete with live and virtual models, professional instructors and digital artists, visitors will witness a true life drawing class using procreate Painter 7, Wacom Intuos2 tablets, and a HP Designjet 5000 series printer - leveraging the latest Apple hardware powered by Mac OS X v. 10.1.

"The Art Institutes is recognized as one of the premiere providers of post-secondary design and media-arts instruction in the country - its classrooms are the inspiration for this project. We are honored to be working with them to bring this initiative to life," said Steve Houck, executive vice president of strategic relations for procreate. "We believe the procreate line of software delivers unparalleled creative opportunities for design students. This project demonstrates our commitment to foster and support the next generation of creative professionals."

The Art Institutes has incorporated Painter 7 into its curriculum at a number of its schools. The Art Institutes International at San Francisco has included Painter 7 in a variety of design classes, including Image Manipulation, Portfolio Presentation and Fashion Design.

"Painter 7 is a dream come true," said Gwendolyn Lewis Huddleston, an artist and digital illustration instructor at The Art Institutes International at San Francisco. "Our students love it and they're able to produce professional looking work in their first lesson - from there they just get better. Painter is the only software that offers a real painting experience."

"The procreate line of products is a strong addition to our curriculum. We are committed to ensuring that our students are trained on industry relevant software," said David Pauldine, President of The Art Institutes. "At Macworld Expo, we are taking this commitment one step further. Together with procreate, we will show attendees the power and potential these exciting technologies bring to the creative professional."

Macworld conference attendees are invited to register to participate as students in the procreate sponsored Digital Art Class. Classes will be held in booth #2139 throughout the show. Attendees are encouraged to register for a spot at the booth. Spots will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
