Today ikan Corporation has introduced a new line of affordable LCD monitors for the video production and AV markets. Comprised of a full line, ikans monitors feature a range sizes from 2.5 inches up to 9 inches including one with VGA and touch screen capabilities. All monitors feature antiglare TFT displays with wide viewing angles.

The V2500 is the smallest and most versatile of the line. It features both audio and video connections along with a built in stand for tabletop use.

?The V2500 is so small and light you can stick it anywhere video monitoring is needed. With a list price of less than $100 you could mount one next to every piece of gear in your rack said Kan Yeung. For a larger viewing area The V3000 is available and includes an integrated screen cover and stand.

With the increasing number of cameras supporting 16:9, a monitor with widescreen capabilities is necessary. The V7000 with a 7 inch viewing area is perfect for mounting onto cameras for field or studio use. The V9000 features an extra large 9 inch viewing area and is great for extended viewing distances or for larger group viewing. Both monitors feature: horizontal and vertical display flipping to accommodate any mounting position, a single connector disconnect for easy setups and strikes, switch able aspect ratio for 16:9 and 4:3. The monitors are compatible with NTSC or PAL.

The VT8000 shares many of the features of the VT7000 and VT9000 but its 8 inch screen features a native 1024x768 XGA/VGA resolution. Its low power consumption, small profile and versatile mounting hardware make it perfect for tight locations such as a news van or overcrowded control room. In addition to its VGA connection it also has connections for s-video and composite video along with stereo audio so it can also be used to monitor video. The VT8000 is so small and light you can mount it to a camera hot shoe for a simple field teleprompter or throw it into your briefcase for a second monitor for editing with a laptop. Its touchscreen capabilities would make it ideal for use in a kiosk.
