iQstor to Demo SAN-Powered Solutions at Storage World

Streaming video, rich media, virtual tape appliance and new SATA solution (June 17, 2004)

iQstor Networks, Inc., developer of intelligent, integrated Fibre Channel and Serial ATA (SATA) Storage Area Network (SAN) solutions, announced that the company will be showcasing partner solutions based on iQstor storage technology at the Storage World Conference from June 29 to July 1. The company will be demonstrating solutions driven by intelligent iQstor storage networks including an affordable streaming video and rich media solution integrated by Integrix and a highly cost-effective virtual tape appliance developed from JAAG.

In addition to the technology solutions in Booth 320 on the show floor, iQstor will also be demonstrating its highly scalable iQ1000 Fibre Channel Storage System, its popular iQ1200 intelligent SATA Storage System, and a new, soon to be announced SATA solution for tiered storage environments.

The conference will also feature iQstor executive Swee-Gin Leong discussing the impact of intelligent storage for tiered applications in a panel moderated by analyst Arun Taneja. Leong, iQstor vice president of engineering, will be joining other industry executives in a roundtable session entitled "Taking Data Protection to the Next Level," scheduled from 3:50-4:35 p.m. on July 1.

Affordable Video Streaming, VOD Rich Media Solution to be Shown
The new offering from Integrix, developed as a solution for streaming video, video on demand (VOD) and rich media applications has been created by tightly integrating two state-of-the-art technologies -- iQstor's iQ1000 Fibre Channel Storage System and Vela's RapidAccess video encoder/decoder and video server.

iQstor's iQ1000 is a self-contained Fibre Channel storage system that brings an intelligent and highly-available solution combining proven enterprise-level features such as storage virtualization, snapshots, mirroring, remote replication, storage provisioning and automated capacity growth with fully redundant components -- at a price point that's dramatically less than competing Fibre Channel solutions on the market today. Vela's RapidAccess MPEG-2 encoder, decoder and video server delivers unparalleled operational versatility for in-studio or video streaming use. Combining off-the-shelf hardware with state-of-the-art software, RapidAccess provides flexible operation with an affordable, open architecture and easily expanded solution.

Easy to Use Virtual Tape Appliance for SMBs to be Shown
JAAG, Inc. a data storage aggregator with a unique business model focused on "bridging the gap" between storage manufacturers and end users, will be showing a J-Tape Appliance, based on technology from iQstor and Diligent Technologies. The J-Tape appliance is part of the company's DSA family and provides Disk-to-Disk (D2D) technology that emulates existing tape drive and library functionality. Based on iQstor's iQ1200 SATA storage system -- and iQstor's enhanced, embedded data services -- the easy to use appliance makes tape and library backup simple for SMBs and SMEs.

"Using iQstor's Fibre Channel and Serial ATA solutions -- with enterprise-level data services embedded onboard -- as the foundation of these solutions allow our partners to deliver extremely sophisticated, but easy to use applications for their customers," Jason Lo, president, iQstor Networks, said. "The ability to use an affordable and highly intelligent storage platform allows our technology partners to create solutions that reduce complexity for IT administrators in a wide range of industries."
