iPromises Recovery Companion, a Free Sobriety iPhone App, Reaches 10,000 Downloads

  (March 29, 2011)

Los Angeles, CA (Vocus/PRWEB) March 29, 2011

Promises Treatment Centers and Elements Behavioral Health announced this week that 10,000 people have downloaded their free sobriety app, the iPromises Recovery Companion. In June 2010, Promises launched the iPromises Recovery Companion, an application for iPhone that provides a free way to track progress, monitor moods and triggers, and build a virtual community of support. With more than 90 ratings on iTunes and numerous positive media reviews, including being featured in Inc. Magazines App Time, the application has proven to be a helpful recovery tool for many.

We are thrilled with the level of adoption of iPromises, said Vera Appleyard, Vice President of Internet Marketing at Elements Behavioral Health. The feedback shows us that people in recovery find iPromises extremely useful. They love the ability to track triggers over time, and a number of users have told us that the daily reflection helps them start the day with a positive attitude.

Mobile technology has becomes an increasingly important component of day-to-day living, and Promises Treatment Centers realized that they could make an important difference by creating a free sobriety application that provides tools and support for those in recovery.

We are all very pleased with the number of downloads, said Dr. David Sack, CEO of Promises Treatment Centers and its parent company, Elements Behavioral Health. We hoped this application would help make recovery an easier, more enjoyable process for our clients and anyone in recovery. The feedback has shown us that we are fulfilling that mission. In treatment, we often focus on helping clients learn how to stay in the moment and be aware of how they are feeling because these are critical skills for relapse prevention. One day at a time is a well-known philosophy in recovery, and the iPromises app helps participants live that philosophy.

iPromises is available for free download on iTunes.
