1.1 adds brightness/contrast controls By Dave Nagel
Apple has updated iPhoto to version 1.1. iPhoto is Apple's photo cataloging and capture utility included free with new Macintosh systems. The update, which adds a number of minor enhancements, is also free.

iPhoto 1.1 adds new brightness and contrast controls, integration with Mac OS X's Mail application and controls for setting photos as desktop backgrounds and screen saver slide shows. Other new features include:

  • Ability to create a self-contained QuickTime slideshow that includes background music and cross-dissolves;
  • Ability to search the photo library by the text information in a photo's comment field;
  • View EXIF metadata;
  • Preserve file names as photo titles when importing images from the Finder;
  • Improved print templates.

iPhoto is available immediately as a free download from http://www.apple.com/iphoto.
