iMingle® Insurance Launches Instant Bill-Paying Site Utilizing QR Code(August 08, 2011)
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) August 08, 2011
iMingle® Insurance announced today that it has launched a new quick, easy-to-use payment site to allow customers to make instant payments anywhere using a QR code and their mobile phones. The move is the latest from the innovative company built around the service needs and expectation of the technology-centered i Generation.
QR code is a unique matrix barcode that is scanned using a QR reader application and camera on a mobile phone. While still in its infancy in the United States, QR code is rapidly gaining popularity around the globe.
Now, when iMingle customers receive a bill, they can just open it, scan it, pay it and shred it. The process is completely hassle-free, with no need to get to a computer, remember any usernames and passwords or search for credit card information. Select billing emails also include a direct link to a customers payment site, with no login required.
Our customers tend to be early adopters who rely on technology to make their lives easier, said Michael Z. Stahl, iMingles vice president of marketing and operations. QR code is yet another tool we offer that allows policyholders to quickly take care of their insurance business and get on with life.
Launched in 2010, iMingle is a new marketing approach for direct-to-consumer insurance aimed at what the company calls the i Generation, those consumers who routinely turn to their social networks to find information, compare deals and seek recommendations from their peers. For the first time, an insurance provider has developed its marketing strategy specifically to meet the needs and expectations of these policyholders by rewarding them for two things they are already doing: using social media and buying insurance.
iMingle is the first direct-to-consumer insurance provider to offer group buying for auto insurance. Now available in 17 states, iMingle allows individual policyholders to qualify for group discounts and potentially save hundreds of dollars by tapping into the collective buying power of social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter.
Most insurance companies offer discounts if you insure multiple cars within a household. iMingle takes this concept a step further by allowing consumers to link, or mingle, their policies with those of their friends, so they can both benefit from the iMingle Network® Discount of 10 percent. This is on top of iMingles other policy discounts, which can save customers up to 50 percent or more.
iMingle is now available in Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, Oregon, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia and Wisconsin. Homeowners, renters and condo insurance are also available in several states.
Another way iMingle serves the techno-centric, i Generation consumer is with the iMingle Insurance iPhone App, which launched in April. The application provides drivers with a more convenient way to manage their insurance policies anytime and anywhere.
(Please note: The term group buying as used in this press release is intended to mean collective buying in the social context and not the purchasing of insurance as part of an employer-sponsored group or other affinity association.)
iMingle is part of Unitrin, Inc. (NYSE: UTR), which has over $8 billion in assets and an A- (Excellent) Rating from A.M. Best Company for insurance operations. More information is available at http://www.iMingle.com or by calling 800-315-0473.
