hsr/ny Mixer Bill Higley completed the final audio mix for In Search Of My Rescuers, Marguerite Birnbaums testimonial chronicling the search for the Dincq family, her rescuers during WWII in Belgium. The half-hour testimonial, which is part of the New York Women in Film and Television [email protected] series, was screened Wednesday, February 15th.

In Search Of My Rescuers was written, directed and produced by Marguerite Birnbaum, who has over 20 years experience producing television and radio commercials, videos and corporate sales training programs.

A Hidden Child, living in New York, she was reunited, on June 10, 1994, with the family that had hidden her in Belgium. Though Mr. Dincq, a resistance worker, was denounced, deported and killed at Dachau in 1944, Birnbaum was able to reunite with the three Dincq children, Jean-Pierre, Marcq and Guigui. Her testimonial culminates in 1996 when the Dincqs, in recognition of their valor, were honored as Righteous Among the Nations by Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Martyrs' and Heroes' Remembrance Authority located in Jerusalem.

?This film was a labor of love for Marguerite and took many years to complete. The audio, over successive generations, had degraded with each generation so I went back to the original audio takes and applied the most modern noise reduction techniques to achieve the best possible sound for her project, explained hsr/ny Mixer Bill Higley.

Birnbaum was aided in the completion of this testimonial film by Bill Higley, who was responsible for the final audio mix (hsr/ny); Editors Alan Eisenberg and Joseph Kings (Refinery Post Production), Ciro Denettis (Rhinoceros Edit), Ilya Magazanin and Ian Collen (Chemistry), Steve Hafner (Steel Rose Editorial); Film-to-Tape and Standards Conversion, Mark Polyocon (Tape House Editorial); Color Corrector Eli Friedman (Company 3); Composer Mark Barasch and Mixer P. Dennis Mitchell (Sound Image New York); and Motion Control Operator Nick Mavrosen (Stitch Motion Graphics).

In addition to the New York Women in Film and Television [email protected] series, the testimonial was also screened in New York at The Hidden Child Foundation, a division of the Anti-Defamation League, in early February.
