form*Z RenderZone and RadioZity 3.9 Offer New Export OptionsNew version also enhances parametric power added in form*Z 3.8 (November 21, 2001)
form.Z is a hybrid solid and surface 3D modeler that combines polygonal with smooth parametric modeling under a single roof, to give you a selection between organic free form modeling, traditional 3D CAD capabilities or both, in the same environment. It is complemented by drafting, rendering , animation, and advanced CAD capabilities.
The enhancements in version 3.9 include the following:
·ViewPoint VET: exporting to this popular 3D format will now facilitate sending form.Z models to the world wide web.
·Shockwave: exporting to Macromedia's Director popular 3D format is intended to assist in involving form.Z models in interactive multimedia presentations.
·Piranesi: exporting images for adding further rendering effects and for refining them with a variety of brush types that make them look like they were hand painted.
·QuickTime VR 5.0 spherical panoramic movies: extending the types of QT movies previously available with QT's new spherical panorama.
·Displaying the facets of smooth objects: a new option for Quick Paint*, Hidden Line*, and Surface Render* to display smooth objects with facets, rather than their silhouettes only.
·Nurbz by boundary: a new method for generating nurbz objects from two, three, or four boundary lines or splines. This is in addition to the previously available nurbz by lofting and nurbz from solid objects.
·Editing that preserves nurbz controls: a number of operations will now preserve the nurbz parameters, most notably trimmed nurbz can now be edited and reshaped without losing their controls.
·Extract tool: retrieving the controls of parametric entities and turning them into independent objects. This is an ability to extract the new shapes of control lines after they are involved in the reshaping of the object they generate.
form.Z includes Boolean operations, dynamic 3D form editing and sculpting, objects with multiple parametric personalities, namely NURBS, ACIS, Bezier/Coons patches, analytic primitives, polygonal objects, and metaballls, 3D Text, object rounding, symbol instances and libraries, deformations, stairs, helical objects, spherical objects, screws and bolts, unfolded objects, terrain modeling, customizable key commands, selective/unlimited undos, over twenty import/export formats, and many more unique features. RenderZone provides photorealistic rendering and RadioZity the most accurate simulation of light effects.
