beyerdynamic Shows New Simultaneous Interpreting SystemNew SIS offerings valuable for international business (March 17, 2005)
beyerdynamic, a leading manufacturer of exceptional microphones, headphones and business communication systems, will introduce the new Simultaneous Interpreting System (SIS), featuring the SIS 1202 Interpreter Station and the SIS 121 Control Unit, at NSCA 2005, Booth # 0713. The SIS has been designed for multilingual events, and is capable of performing multiple functions with superb audio quality.
?There are many situations, such as international meetings and conferences, where there are people from various countries who require this type of professional interpreter system, says Bob Lowig, beyerdynamic Regional Sales Manager. ?The Simultaneous Interpreting System will be very valuable to many international businesses, as well as conference centers.
The SIS 1202 Interpreter Station features a ?MUTE button, which interrupts the audio transmission when pressed, a ?Service button, which links to the technician without bothering the participants of the conference. There is an integrated input and output channel that enables the interpreter to select each channel of the system, and change in between the original and relay. The SIS 1202 has been developed for two interpreters to use at a time, and is usually placed in a soundproof booth. Headsets, headphones and microphones may be connected, depending on the situation.
Additional features of the SIS 1202 include ?EarSafe, an intelligent ear protector for participants that exceeds all existing ear protection applications. ?EarSafe ensures that the sound pressure will not exceed a defined maximum value, and it allows all headphones to have the same maximum sound pressure level and volume range.
The SIS 121 Modular Control Unit can manage a maximum of twelve interpreter stations, allowing the translation of twelve languages for the conference or meeting. The most basic version of the control unit is equipped with one original channel and four foreign language channels. The system can be extended to eight or twelve foreign language channels with two additional modules, each of them with four output channels.
