Zoic Adds New Senior Producer And Senior CompositorLeighton Greer and John Shirley join Zoic Studios team (March 29, 2005)
Zoic Studios is excited to welcome Leighton Greer as Senior Producer of Commercials, and John Shirley as Senior Compositor. Both join the team at Zoic Studios, which is responsible for such noted commercials as the Super Bowl 2005 ?Mustang commercial as well as recent notable spots for HP ?Picture Book and MasterCard ?Career Path.
Prior to joining Zoic Studios, Leighton Greer was a Producer at Entity FX where she worked on the recent hit feature ?Hitch. Before Entity, she enjoyed a successful tenure at A52 producing effects for such high-end spots as Nike "Before" (dir. Lance Acord), Nike "Move" (dir. Jake Scott), Honda "Purpose" (dir. Roman Coppola), Sony - "Signs" (dir. Dante Ariola) and Pontiac "Mantra" (dir. Jeffery Plansker). It was her passion for commercials, coupled with Zoics award-winning reputation that led Leighton to her new position as Senior Producer.

In addition to A52, Leighton also worked as a Production Manager for Rhythm and Hues where she oversaw the day-to-day operations of the companys growing commercial division. Other experience includes a six-month stint at Pinnacle Post in Seattle and her industry beginnings at POP.
John Shirley got his start clear across the Atlantic, at DAS WERK, a leading post-production house in Frankfurt, Germany. His three-month internship quickly grew into a full time Henry artist position, assisting on many national and international projects for clients Coca-Cola, ZDF and SAT 1.
Returning to his native Southern California, Johns talents and reputation quickly elevated him to the position of Lead Visual Effects artist at Encore, working on episodic television shows such as Six Feet Under, Ally McBeal and HBO's Carnivale, for which John received a nomination from the Visual Effects Society for Best Visual Effects in an Episodic Television Show in 2003. A highly sought after compositor, John has brought both his technical and creative talents to projects in different venues, including music videos for Mariah Carey and Limp Bizkit, commercials for JC Penney and Nestle and feature films Kill Bill 2 and Exorcist the Beginning. In addition, John handles the responsibilities of on-set visual effects supervision, and has worked in such a capacity for shows like Deadwood, Tru Calling and Jerry Bruckheimers Cold Case.
Since joining Zoic Studios as a freelancer, John has been busy creating visual effects for MasterCard's ?Career Path for McCann Erickson, Mustang for J. Walter Thompson and Nissan for True. In addition, John has recently provided on-set visual effects supervision for the Nissan spot, as well as a Cadillac spot for Chemstri and @Radical Medias Playstation PSP. Of course, when John is not performing his wizardry in the commercial realm he still enjoys leading shots for such notable television productions as House, Point Pleasant and Battlestar Galactica.
