Zenprise Announces Support for iPhone OS4 SoftwareCompany Tradition of Being First to Market With Mobile Management Innovations Continues as More Enterprises Integrate Apple Devices Into the Workplace (June 22, 2010)
FREMONT, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 06/22/10 -- Zenprise, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise mobile management and device management software, today announced that its award-winning MobileManager platform will support Apple's iPhone® OS 4 software. In addition to being one of the first mobile management software vendors to support the new OS, Zenprise was the first to announce support for the Apple iPad earlier this year. As enterprises continue to adopt iPhones and iPads in the workplace, Zenprise is committed to aggressively supporting the Apple platform with future product offerings.
iPhones are increasingly being deployed in the enterprise as consumer adoption of the popular devices continues to skyrocket. Last week alone Apple received 600,000 orders for its latest iPhone 4; ten times higher than the number of pre-orders for the iPhone 3GS last year. Zenprise support for OS4 will allow enterprise IT administrators to monitor, track, support and secure iPhones running the new operating system and offer service level agreements for these devices. In addition to iPhone, Zenprise supports BlackBerry®, Android, Windows Mobile and Palm smartphones.
"Zenprise has continued to stay in lockstep with Apple by quickly responding to our enterprise customers with visibility, control and accountability for their iPhone and iPad deployments," said Ahmed Datoo, vice president of marketing for Zenprise. "Mobility is continually evolving. Our goal is to provide a management platform that quickly adapts and evolves to newly introduced smartphone platforms."
Support for the latest iPhone operating system will be fully available over the next two product releases of Zenprise's MobileManager, currently scheduled for the summer and fall of 2010. Features in the two releases will include:
- Visibility: MobileManager will provide IT administrators with a comprehensive report on a range of iPhone device data, including, but not limited to, OS version, serial number, firmware version, applications installed and roaming status.
- Remote Assistance: Enterprise IT personnel will be able to remotely enable and configure a user's iPhone for enterprise access.
- Enterprise data protection: IT will be able to separate enterprise data from consumer data. When an employee leaves the company, the IT department can selectively wipe the enterprise data from the iPhone while leaving the employee's consumer data and applications intact.
- Corporate Compliance: IT will be able to prevent modified iPhones from accessing the corporate network. Additionally, administrators can apply security policies over the air to any modified iPhones.
Zenprise's award winning software automates all aspects of mobile management, from monitoring to troubleshooting, from expense management to device management, from security to compliance. Using Zenprise, customers can reduce their mobile TCO costs by over 25 percent, increase customer service levels by over 75 percent and ensure corporate compliance rates of 100 percent. Supported smartphone platforms include BlackBerry®, iPhone, Palm, Windows Mobile and Android devices. Founded in 2003, Zenprise is headquartered in Fremont, California and is privately held with funding from investors Bay Partners, Ignition Partners, Mayfield Fund, and Shasta Ventures. Zenprise's executive and product teams bring enterprise software experience from companies such as Mercury, EDS, Zambeel, Bay Networks, and Loudcloud. For more information, go to www.zenprise.com.
