John Dickinson presents ESeminar By Ko Maruyama
This past weekend, John Dickinson (of, presented an online seminar focusing on Zaxwerks software.  John is known for his tutorial involvement in several online communities, and is one of the primary demo artists for Zaxwerks.  You can see animations he completed with the software on the Zaxwerks website.  This weekend, he showed several how he pulls it off.

In an online seminar scheduled for 3pm on Saturday afternoon (Los Angeles time), John Dickinson and Zax Dow set up to present.  Almost 60 people were in attendance world wide for the online tutorial, ranging from absolute beginners to experienced veterans.

Attendees were treated not only to personal training by John, but some INSIDER NEWS about the future of the Zaxwerks plugins, discounts on the software, and one-on-one comments to individual questions.   The training, which had been initially scheduled for a 2-hour seminar, stretched into 3 hours plus Q&A.  Students had the ability to ask questions immediately via email while the training was going on (rather than trying to recall the question at the end of the lecture).

After the presentation, John Dickinson noted, "The seminar went outstandingly well.  I was blown away by the response, and the feedback I received was gratifying."

John explained, "I think a lot of attendees hadn't realized just what a great way of learning the E-seminar format actually is.  Also the Q&A session at the end was extremely popular, with most of the attendees staying for almost a full hour to ask Zax and I questions. "

After Effects New York's Jim Geduldick later told me, "Being able to see John's workflow and how he puts together the great spots gave me some crazy ideas for projects of my own.   I would have never thought to use period punctuations in ProAnimator as a base for a background.  I am really looking forward to see what he has up his sleeve for the next one"

Zax was impressed by the experience, and remarked that there were some cool tricks that John showed off that even Zax himself hadn't considered before.

Zax went on to say, "It's great fun to see how other people work.  When you see how a project is built from the ground up, you get ideas that will help on future projects of your own.  John's creative use of our software was very inspiring. "

He wasn't the only one who had this impression after seeing the presentation.  The feedback was filled with accolades for the presentation and the capabilities of the software.

If you missed it - you missed a chance to have your personal questions answered, listen in on some of the upcoming features that Zax has in store for the software and a major software discount offered to attendees.  However, John has plans to put the same presentation on a DVD and offer it for sale at a later date.  You'll just have to stay tuned to find out when that release date comes.

Until then, check out all of the software and tutorials at
