Yammer Hires New Director of Security

(November 03, 2011)

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/03/11 -- Yammer, Inc., the leading provider of enterprise social networks, today announced the hiring of Josha Bronson as director of security, based in the company's headquarters in San Francisco. Bronson will be responsible for the overall security testing, compliance and governance issues for Yammer worldwide.

Most recently, Bronson served as security manager and IT specialist at hi5 Networks, where he was responsible for the internal and external security of the company's infrastructure, conducting penetration testing and creating the roadmap for strategic security improvements, while responding to all security threats and incidents. He also interfaced with law enforcement and government officials and advised corporate counsel about issues of privacy and security.

"I am looking forward to working closely with Yammer's product development team to improve security processes and develop tools and techniques for data analysis that exceed the company's already exceptional track-record," said Bronson. "The skills I've developed over more than a decade in the IT security field and most recently at a social network with more than 40 million users, will prove invaluable as Yammer scales its operations internationally."

Prior to his role at hi5, Bronson served as a senior security consultant at iSec Partners where he performed a variety of contracts for large clients, including code review, application and network security audits, product assessments, threat modeling and product review. He has also held IT security positions at companies such as The Logan Group, McAfee, nCircle Network Security and CNET Networks, Inc.

"Josha has demonstrated a clear expertise in all aspects of information security including system and network security, penetration testing, security policy, incident response and abstract security attack and defense techniques," said Adam Pisoni, CTO and co-founder of Yammer. "Based on his experience, we are even more confident Yammer will be able to exceed all enterprise security and compliance expectations."
