Xerox Named Finalist for Wireless Leadership AwardsLeader in Document Management Provides Better, Faster and Smarter Customer Service Using Antenna Mobile Applications on BlackBerry Smartphones (April 28, 2010)
ORLANDO, FL and JERSEY CITY, NJ -- (Marketwire) -- 04/28/10 -- Antenna Software, delivering real business mobility to the world's most demanding enterprises, today announced its customer, Xerox Corporation, the leading global enterprise for business process and document management, has been selected as a Wireless Leadership Award finalist in the Business Impact category, at WES 2010. The Wireless Leadership Awards recognize BlackBerry customers for innovation and outstanding results in wireless deployments.
Xerox developed Wireless Integration for Next Generation Systems (WINGS) for BlackBerry® smartphones, which leverages the Antenna Mobility Platform (AMP) to enable its Customer Service Engineers (CSEs) to work better and faster. Xerox was recognized for its accomplishments using BlackBerry smartphones to improve productivity and the jobs of its 5,500 CSEs. With this solution, Xerox CSEs are able to dispatch and close service calls, locate equipment parts in inventory, research customer machine history and update their availability status -- all from their BlackBerry smartphones. In addition to these key functions, Xerox has taken its mobile initiative to the next level by implementing three other ground-breaking mobile technologies and applications:
- Maintenance Assistant: This patent-pending Machine-to-Machine application leverages BlackBerry Push Services to automatically send data from Xerox's printing systems to a CSE's BlackBerry smartphone the moment a service call is placed. CSEs can use this diagnostic information when contacting customers to pinpoint problems and determine whether they can be mediated via phone -- saving time and money on unnecessary trips to customer locations.
- Remote Solve: When CSEs resolve problems over the phone, they use the Remote Solve solution through Antenna's AMP Management Center to capture the complete call debrief information in Xerox's call center knowledgebase -- simplifying the repair process for CSEs and customers who encounter similar problems in the future.
- Dynamic Meter: Meter-read instructions for all Xerox products are centrally managed through the AMP Management Center to provide CSEs with accurate billing meter instructions during customer visits using their BlackBerry smartphones.
"We believe the AMP mobile platform and BlackBerry smartphones are an integral part of Xerox's real-time enterprise strategy, helping to drive productivity, lower costs and enhance communications throughout the organization," said Jim Hemmer, president and CEO, Antenna Software. "We're excited for such a valued customer to be recognized for its strides in leveraging transformative mobile technology to continue pushing the limits to benefit its customers and giving its engineers the power to deliver excellent service."
Every year, the Wireless Leadership Awards are presented to BlackBerry customers who have deployed innovative solutions and are using wireless technology to make big improvements -- whether it's to help their customers, drive social networking for their employees or to impact the bottom line.
