Xeround Adds AppHarbor and PHP Fog Integration to Its Cloud DatabaseZero-Management, Highly Available Cloud Database Now Scales .NET and PHP applications (May 15, 2012)
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 05/15/12 -- Xeround, the Cloud Database Company, today announced the availability of their database-as-a-service for MySQL applications as an add-on for the AppHarbor .Net platform and for AppFog's PHP Fog PHP platform.
Xeround's add-on provides .NET and PHP developers using these platforms with a zero-management, highly available and scalable cloud database solution in just one click.
Xeround's add-on on AppHarbor and AppFog platforms provides simple one-click integration between the applications hosted on these platforms and Xeround's Database-as-a-Service. From the users' perspective, all they need to do is add the add-on to their application from within their environment. This automatically creates a MySQL-compatible cloud database that easily connects to their application.
Unlike other database solutions, Xeround is the only true native cloud database -- engineered specifically for the unique cloud environment thus avoiding the pitfalls of a traditional MySQL installation in the cloud.
Xeround is already available as an add-on for Heroku and Engine Yard and is also running on Amazon EC2 and Rackspace, as well as on HP Cloud Services in beta. This latest AppHarbor and PHP Fog integration marks Xeround's continued expansion to additional cloud platforms.
Xeround's add-on on AppHarbor is available in Xeround's FREE, BASIC and PRO plans as a complete end-to-end solution for seamlessly developing MySQL applications in the cloud. PHP Fog users will initially only be offered in the FREE version, soon to expand to additional plans to enable automatic scaling and more robust features.
"Xeround's service as an add-on for AppHarbor and PHP Fog showcases our traction and the increasing demand for developing MySQL apps on multiple cloud platforms," said Razi Sharir, CEO of Xeround. "Now even more developers can develop in the cloud using their chosen platform and enjoy the no-downtime guarantee and true elasticity of Xeround's service."
"We're excited to have Xeround Cloud Database available as an add-on for the AppHarbor platform," said Michael Friis, an AppHarbor co-Founder. "Xeround is a great fit for .Net developers looking for an easy way to ensure a scalable and cost-effective MySQL database in the cloud."
"Adding Xeround to our Add-On program will enable developers to gain access to a great relational database-as-a-service solution," said Lucas Carlson, CEO and Founder. "We believe that having these choices within our ecosystem continues to make developers' lives easier and are excited to offer Xeround's robust SQL database service to our customers."
Xeround enables a truly scalable cloud computing infrastructure by providing elastic and highly available database software for public and private clouds. Xeround's cloud database for MySQL-based applications allows service providers, ISVs and customers to easily run their applications in the cloud and automatically scale up or down, all while ensuring availability in the event of failure or schema changes. The product is well geared to IaaS, PaaS and SaaS providers, and is available either as a Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) or as a virtual appliance. The company is based in Mountain View, California with research and development in Israel. Investors include Benchmark Capital, Giza Venture Capital, Ignition Partners and Trilogy Partnership.
