XChange International Releases pdfColorConvert 1.1Acrobat plug-in offers advanced colour handling and new options (June 13, 2005)
XChange International, the source for extended technology worldwide are pleased to announce the release of pdfColorConvert v1.1. This new update of the popular Acrobat plug-in offers advanced colour handling and new options allowing the product to process even more precise colour transformations within PDF documents.
Using this updated version of the Acrobat 6 and 7 Plug-In, users will be capable of selecting a certain rendering intent to be considered and adjusted individually for current processes. Additional features comprise options for assigning ICC source profiles to specific conversions and automated set-black-to-overprint to avoid colour gaps.
Additionally, pdfColorConvert 1.1 now detects spot colours having been applied in DeviceN mode and displays them correctly. This way, users can edit and adjust DeviceN colour shifts separately. Black point compensation has been integrated into pdfColorConvert 1.1 to make sure included dark colours come into their own when printing a PDF.
Users in prepress agencies and print offices can greatly benefit from pdfColorConvert. By using the plug-in, preparing PDF files for coloured print output becomes childs play. In case a user does not know the origin of the PDF he wants to convert, pdfColorConvert can determine input settings automatically with its ?Automatic Best Guess? feature, even correctly identifying PDF/X files.
To convert and output the PDF document correctly, a number of current ready-to-use output profiles from sheet fed offset to gravure print have already been set up by the manufacturer of pdfColor Convert. Users simply choose the output destination ? no additional adjustments are required. Manual determination of PDF document origins is also possible, as well as the ability to import individual output profiles.
Additional features make operating with pdfColor Convert even more convenient: the ?Recall... option helps to save time when it comes to processing repetitive jobs. This feature identifies and adopts former settings which may be suitable for current colour conversions. Each and every conversion process is documented thoroughly with reports including detailed information. Help texts have been integrated into the pdfColorConvert interface guaranteeing easy operation by any user at any time.
