Wyse Brings Automatic Configuration to Windows-Based Thin ClientsWyse WCM Software and Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager Compatibility Unifies Device Management (March 13, 2012)

Wyse offers solutions for organizations that use Microsoft's System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) to manage their Windows desktops and servers. Administrators can use SCCM with the Windows Embedded Device Manager (WEDM) product to manage updates and patches to supported Wyse Windows Embedded-based thin clients with management of the write filter, simplifying the process for IT admins to update these devices.

With the introduction of Windows Embedded Device Manager, Microsoft has extended the capabilities of System Center Configuration Manager to fully manage devices running Windows Embedded operating systems. Now enterprises can deploy, assess, and update Windows Embedded devices -- specifically Wyse thin clients, across a variety of environments, including point of service, kiosks, and digital signage.

Additionally, Wyse Configuration Manager (WCM) is an innovative self-configuring client technology for Wyse-enhanced Windows Embedded thin clients in virtual desktop environments. WCM goes beyond anything available in the market today, enabling IT administrators to automate thin client rollouts, and simplify post-rollout configuration management. It supports settings for remote desktops, device configuration and operating system configuration, including time zones, Internet Explorer favorites and trusted sites, and keyboard language.

- Simplicity. Hands off, on the fly configuration of individual thin clients at login time, including no network management platform required for configuration. WCM is easy to install and eliminates re-imaging when any of the settings need to be changed.
- Scalability. Hundreds or even many thousands of thin clients can be easily configured.
- Flexibility. Thin client configurations can be tailored to the varying needs of diverse departments or groups, with support for many non-English languages.
- Security. Enhance security with enable/disable of USB mass storage, Internet Explorer trusted sites and firewall settings.
- Usability. Internet Explorer Kiosk mode (full-screen web page access), in addition to the existing auto start for VMware View, Citrix and RDP clients.
