Workday Expands Leadership TeamAppoints Debi Hirshlag, Vice President, Human Resources; Jim Shaughnessy, Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary (February 27, 2012)
PLEASANTON, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 02/27/12 -- Workday, Inc. today announced the appointments of Debi Hirshlag, vice president of human resources and Jim Shaughnessy, vice president, general counsel and secretary. Workday, the leader in SaaS-based enterprise solutions for global human resources, payroll and financial management, continues to expand its leadership team to support the projected growth and global expansion of the company in the years to come.
As Vice President, Human Resources (HR), Debi Hirshlag is responsible for talent acquisition and development, compensation and benefits, and employee engagement programs.
- Prior to joining Workday, Debi served as vice president of worldwide HR at Flextronics, where she led its deployment of Workday, the world's largest rollout of a core HR system in the cloud. In addition, she managed an internal team of more than 500 HR professionals, implemented and ran global HR shared services, and managed the site-based HR and learning systems organizations for Flextronics' 200,000 workers around the globe. Debi has also held HR leadership roles at Ariba, Inc., Latitude Communications, and Trimble, and early career roles at Amoco Corp., Pepsi-Cola, and Seagate. She holds a master's degree in labor and industrial relations from the University of Illinois and a bachelor's degree in industrial management from Carnegie Mellon University.
As Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary, Jim Shaughnessy oversees the company's legal, corporate governance, security, and compliance operations globally.
- Jim brings to Workday more than 25 years of experience as a strategic legal executive for companies including Compaq Computer Corp., HP, Lenovo Group Ltd., and PeopleSoft, Inc. Just prior to joining Workday, Jim served as senior vice president, chief administrative officer, and general counsel at Orbitz Worldwide, Inc., where he was responsible for legal and government affairs, shared services, corporate communications, human resources, procurement, security, and compliance. Jim holds Juris Doctor and master's of public policy degrees from the University of Michigan and a bachelor's degree in political science from Northern Michigan University.
