Winkpass Creations, Inc. Announces the Addition of iPregnant to Their iPhone App FamilyiPregnant Was Conceived Primarily Due to Requests From Loyal iPeriod App Users (September 08, 2009)
SILICON VALLEY, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 09/08/09 -- Winkpass Creations, Inc. announces the addition of the iPregnant iPhone app to their burgeoning family of 12 apps some of which include iPeriod, Knot Guide, Friend Mapper, Cycling Log and Illness Tracker. The four star app was born on August 29 and has been warmly welcomed by an armful of loyal customers with appreciative testimonials such as "this app is awesome!" and "...it's just wonderful to see everything at a glance!" and "We've been waiting for a pregnancy app that would offer the option of uploading photos and iPregnant does!"
Cheryl Atkinson-Derman, co-founder of Winkpass Creations, Inc. commented, "Women were writing to us who currently relied on our iPeriod app to track their cycle because they wanted to get pregnant. So we decided to offer a pregnancy app with more bells and whistles than those of our competitors."
-- Calculate due date based on your last menstrual period -- Record daily notes and symptoms -- Option to view and associate photos with certain dates -- Summary screen displays current week, time remaining and approximate baby size -- Ability to browse over 1000 most popular baby names -- Track and email favorite baby names -- Export data as email -- Stores useful information necessary for doctor's appointments -- Password protected -- Utilizes a discreet iPhone display name of (iPr)
Unlike other pregnancy tracking applications, iPregnant allows users to upload and insert photos for a specific calendar day. iPregnant users also have access to a Visual Calendar that makes it easy to view all pregnancy entries at a glance such as users' freeform notes including sickness details, the ability to insert colorful emoticons representing moods and customizable symptoms, the ability to insert the mother's weight, track fetal movement, and list doctor's appointments.
"Because iPhones are taking on the role of 'electronic personal assistants' by tracking and sharing highly personal and medical information, the subject of confidentiality is a common concern," Derman commented. "To ease the mind of iPregnant users, the app is password protected and we incorporated a discreet name under the icon (iPr) -- unlike some competitors which utilize blatantly obvious pregnancy icons."
The iPeriod app created by Winkpass in September of 2008 has already sold over 75,000 copies and gains close to 500 new users every day. iPeriod will feature a pregnancy setting in mid-September that will turn off period and fertility predictions and calculate a due date.
Pricing for iPregnant is $2.99 and requires OS 3.0 or higher. If you are a member of the media and would like to review the iPregnant iPhone app, coupon codes are available, simply contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
