WiebeTech Launches 250 GB FireWire Drive

New model includes Mac Drive 5 software By Dave Nagel
WiebeTech has started shipping a new model in its line of DesktopGB+ external FireWire drives. The new model offers a capacity of 250 GB with a 7,200 RPM mechanism and is available now.

The 250 GB DesktopGB+ is an external, fanless FireWire drive based on the OxfordFW911 chipset. It offers dual FireWire ports for daisychaining and comes with Mac Drive 5 software, which is designed to allow Windows systems to be able to read drives formatted for Macintosh. The model is also upgradeable and can be configured with any ATA-6 drive.

The DesktopGB+ line is available in five capacities from 80 GB to 250 GB, running $219.95 to $599.95. An empty case is also available for $139.95. All drives include an AC adapter and FireWire cable. For more information, visit
