Weekly Download: Painter Brushes, Series 125 wet and gooey brushes for Corel Painter 8
Our series of brushes for this week represents my first experimental efforts at crafting custom brushes for Painter, and, as such, includes a fairly wide range of brush types that follow no particular theme. These include several impasto-style brushes that are thick and textured, usually offering some sort of bristle effect to create strokes that appear to have ridges. Most also include plow characteristics for interacting with other paint strokes on the canvas. There are also some brushes that use the buildup characteristic for creating a deep paint effect. All of the brushes use custom image-based nibs and, of course, can be altered to suit your needs. The nibs are in general fairly large, and you should be able to work with them at diameters greater than 100 pixels without experiencing aliasing problems.
This time around, rather than just giving you a sampling of the brushes, I've decided to show you all of them. Most of the examples below use one or two strokes, though not always at the default size.
