We interview Michael Buday from Syncvue

By David Basulto

When I shot my latest feature film ?Fiesta Grand I knew I would eventually be faced with having to show and review my cuts, scenes, and artwork to my Executive Producer. I mean he did pony up the cash for this masterpiece. The problem was he was back in Florida where we shot. I was home in Los Angeles. Overnighting cuts of the film was an option but would cost money. In the world we live in we all want it on demand.

What was I to do to remedy this situation?

Sometimes I would cut a scene and really wanted to hear someone elses thoughts. When I make a film its always a collaboration. I wanted to collaborate with my deep pocket in Florida. Luckily I remembered a wonderful product I wanted to try out called SyncVue. SyncVue allowed me to upload a QuickTime to my server and email the info to another party for them to download it and review.

The best part is that SyncVue uses Skype. Both parties have Skype and the SyncVue interface and we are off to the races. My Exec Producer and I could view the same footage real time and mark up the timeline, make notes, and much more. This was and is a great product for my workflow.

On todays show I bring you the mastermind behind SyncVue, Michael Buday. Enjoy!
