Warren Miller Entertainment is in a unique position to undertake the countrys first high definition film tour as the film has been self distributed since the company's inception more than 50 years ago. Today Warren Miller athletes travel with the movie from city to city along with what will now be a true high definition projection system. Over the years, the screenings have developed a festival-like atmosphere and have come to signal the onset of winter, celebrated by the hundreds of thousands who attend each year.
The latest Warren Miller installment, HIGHER GROUND, will thrill fans with high peaks, high excitement, and high-flying ski and snowboard action, all shown using the latest high definition technology. HIGHER GROUND travels the globe from the slopes of Switzerland to New Yorks Hunter Mountain, where a group of NYC Firefighters host a ski race each year to raise money for burn victims. The star-athletes of HIGHER GROUND include notables such as Jeremy Bloom, Glen Plake, and Shane McConkey. The movie will travel to more than 180 U.S. cities in Fall 2005, including New York, Los Angles, Chicago and Seattle.
