Wall Street Journal Launches Technology Innovation Awards

Honors technological breakthroughs in a wide range of areas (June 15, 2004)

The Wall Street Journal this year will launch its first global Technology Innovation Awards. The awards competition, which has been staged in Europe for the past three years, is open to individuals, companies and organizations from around the world.

The Journals Technology Innovation Awards cover technological breakthroughs in a wide range of areas, including medicine, software, hardware, the Internet, wireless and broadcasting. Innovations can be in the form of new products, patents, inventions, ideas or services, and should break with conventional processes rather than show marginal improvements in existing products and services.


Winners will be selected in each category by an independent panel of judges with gold, silver and bronze awards for the entire competition. The deadline for nominations is Sept. 3, 2004. Winners will be announced in ?The Journal Report, which will be published in all three editions of The Wall Street Journal on Nov. 15, 2004.
