WSO2 Workshop on SOA Cloud and Mobile Application Development Features InfoQ Architecture Editor Jean-Jacques Dubray as Guest Speaker(August 22, 2011)
(PRWEB) August 22, 2011
Cloud-based and mobile applications enable enterprises to connect with customers, employees and partners with greater flexibility than ever, but they can also introduce serious vulnerabilities if not implemented correctly. A service-oriented architecture (SOA) provides an effective approach for enabling these new applications while maintaining the integrity and security of enterprise systems to which they connect.
A WSO2 technical workshop will provide IT architects and developers with best practices for developing and deploying applications in the cloud and on mobile devices. Featured guest speaker Jean-Jacques Dubray is founder and CTO of Convergence Modeling, an InfoQ architecture editor, and a leading SOA expert. He will demonstrate how to build cloud-enabled mobile applications for the Apple iPhone and Google Android.
The one-day workshop, Fast & Easy Cloud & Mobile App Development, will run August 23, 2011, from 9:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m., in Palo Alto, CA. For more information, visit http://wso2.com/events/workshops/2011-august-paloalto-building-cloud-applications.
Streamlining Cloud Application Development
The WSO2 workshop will explore how developers can rapidly build cloud applications that integrate with heterogeneous enterprise environments and access diverse data sources. The agenda will cover:
- How to use common programming models to build cloud applications that support multi-tenancy, and ensure security and scalability.
- Best practices for creating and orchestrating business processes in the cloud.
- Approaches for building and running cloud-enabled, cross-platform mobile applications that use Web APIs.
- Patterns and practices for overcoming the risks and challenges associated with different cloud deployment models.
- Demonstrations of cloud-enabled applications using the WSO2 StratosLive platform-as-a-service, which is powered by WSO2 Stratos, the industrys most comprehensive and fully open source cloud middleware platform.
In addition to Jean-Jacques Dubray, the workshop sessions will be led by Asanka Abeysinghe, WSO2 director of solutions architecture, and Chintana Wilamuna, WSO2 associate technical lead. Both Asanka and Chintana are also Apache Software Foundation committers.
Demonstrations on Building Cloud-Enabled Mobile Applications
Guest speaker Jean-Jacques Dubray will construct and demonstrate iPhone and Android mobile applications using the Eclipse-based WSO2 Carbon Studio toolkit, the Canappi rapid mobile application development platform, Android toolkit, Apple iOS software development kit, and WSO2 StratosLive. Additionally, Jean-Jacques will demonstrate how to build a simple cross-platform Survey application for both the iPhone and Android mobile devices with WSO2 Data as a Service.
