Volicon Announces Observer UNO Media Monitoring SystemNew version of its Observer flagship media monitoring solution (March 06, 2006)
Volicon, a leading provider of video monitoring, recording, archiving, and streaming solutions, has announced the Observer UNO, a new version of its Observer flagship media monitoring solution designed especially for single-channel environments. Observer UNO provides broadcasters affordable access to the Observers award-winning range of features in a smaller footprint.
?Volicons Observer UNO is the ideal solution for broadcasters who need advanced monitoring solutions at a cost-efficient price point, said Julius Perl, vice president of marketing at Volicon. ?Now, this technology is available to all stations, regardless of market size. Through the Observers advanced video logging and streaming capabilities, anyone can easily record their broadcasts for FCC-compliance issues and keep a leg up on the competition.
Like the traditional Observer, UNO uses Volicons proprietary video processing technology to allow a large number of users simultaneous access to live and archived content on local networks and the Internet. Users can log their own and competitors broadcasts, as well as retrieve and analyze video clips with metadata, locally or remotely. At 1-RU, it takes up a smaller footprint than the traditional Observer and provides 30 (versus 180) maximum days of storage.
Using the Observer UNO, broadcasters can save hundreds of hours a week in monitoring news and other broadcast content, especially in terms of searching and archiving operations. It automatically records content 24/7, allowing users access at the click of a button on their desktops. For example, the process of searching for, recording, editing, and delivering news updates, which used to take hours to complete, can been reduced to just minutes.
In addition to UNO, Volicon will introduce version 2.0 of the Observer software at NAB2006.
Volicon develops and markets turnkey digital video archiving and streaming solutions for the television broadcast industry, including the Observer multichannel video monitoring and logging system. Volicons proprietary video processing system, comprised of a video encoder and streaming engine, enables a large number of users to simultaneously access multiple channels of video content over a network.
