“We are pleased to once again confirm Vodafone’s participation in the Small Cells World Summit as one of the market leading mobile network operators, dedicated to furthering small cell development” says event director Alejandro Pinero. “Following their launch of the Vodafone SureSignal service at the Femtocells World Summit 2009, Vodafone has always been a key participant in the femtocell, and now small cell series of events.”
Small Cell Forum
According to Small Cell Forum chairman Simon Saunders all operators are realising it is just a matter of time before they will need to install small cells in busy metro environments to ensure their networks can economically support traffic growth. ”Future mobile networks will fundamentally rely on both Wi-Fi and small cells to carry the continuing growth in mobile broadband traffic: it’s not either or”, says Professor Simon Saunders.
The Small Cells World Summit’s Alejandro Pinero notes: “we are bringing together some of the biggest names in the smalls cells market, including Symmetricom and NEC, with nearly 60 expert speakers in two tracks, 30+ exhibiting companies from throughout the ecosystem and an unprecedented series of announcements and activities all occurring during the conference.”
Says Manish Gupta, Symmetricom’s Vice President of Marketing and Business Development: “it’s an exciting time for the small cell ecosystem, and it’s uniquely positioned to solve the challenge of delivering mobile broadband services to end users in residential, enterprise and metro environments. While the challenges are many, I remain confident that the industry is moving with the appropriate speed and focus on achieving its goals.”
Anil Kohli, General Manager, NEC Europe Ltd, says his company’s message to the Small Cells World Summit delegates and visitors will be to: “Always think about the total cost of ownership when considering small cells – whether you are an operator or a vendor. Sometimes people don’t see the bigger picture where small cells offer savings, cost benefits, and other advantages beyond the obvious. Those that do are the most successful.”
