Visual Network Design Names James Lord as VP of Product MgmtFormer AT&T, Design Power Engineer to Lead Rackwise Product Design (December 07, 2005)
Visual Network Design, a leader in network design automation, today announced the appointment of James Lord to the position of vice president of product management. Mr. Lord leads a software development team which designs customized versions of the companys Rackwise product family and enables customers to optimize the software for specialized functions. Previously, Mr. Lord was a consultant to Visual Network Design, overseeing the successful development and launch of the Rackwise for Visio product in 2005.
Prior to Visual Network Design, Mr. Lord was responsible for the development and rollout of DSL-troubleshooting software at AT&T, where he also led a team of developers building access network optimization software. Mr. Lord came to AT&T through its acquisition of Northpoint Communications. While at Northpoint, he managed the development and deployment of the company's network capacity monitoring tools and was the engineering lead for new product development. Mr. Lord formerly worked as a knowledge engineer at Design Power, the vendor of the configuration engine used in the Rackwise product.

Mr. Lord holds a bachelor of science degree in Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley and a Master of Science degree in Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
