Vignature Launches Document Signing App for Android OS(August 15, 2011)
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) August 15, 2011
Vignature, the nations only provider of image-based electronic signatures, today announces the release of its e-signature app for Android. The app allows for professionals to legally sign and return signed documents from a smartphone. It makes use of camera functionality to capture a time-specific image of the signer.
People do not want to be tied to an office, near a fax machine. They want to conduct business on the go, said Matt Spradley, CEO of Vignature. The development of our Android app was driven by consumer demand.
VC Fred Wilson recently blogged about his frustration with not being able to sign a document while on vacation. He requested that his readers share any good mobile signing apps on Android. Fred is among the growing legions of people using the Android OS. According to a July 2011 Nielsen report Googles operating system is used by 39% of all smartphones in the United States.
The Android app joins Vignatures existing suite of e-signature products, including Vignature for iPhone 4 and iPad 2. All of the products are camera-powered, and capture a time-sensitive photograph of the signer.
In order to sign with the Vignature app an individual can open a document, and tap to sign. Then the user agrees to pose for a photograph, as a part of the signing process. Finally, the user can email the signed document to himself and/or another recipient.
