Vidyo and Intesys Networking Team to Provide Low-Cost HD Video Conferencing to Customers in Northeast Italy(September 09, 2009)
HACKENSACK, NJ -- (Marketwire) -- 09/09/09 -- Vidyo®, Inc., the first company to deliver personal telepresence, and Intesys Networking s.r.l., a leading ISP located in Verona, Italy, today announced that they have formed a strategic partnership to introduce low-cost, HD video conferencing over the Internet to Intesys Networking customers. Since 2000, Intesys Networking has provided connectivity, network and security services to customers in Northeast Italy. Vidyo is the first company to license technology and deliver products built upon an entirely new video conferencing architecture that utilizes the most current video compression standard -- H.264/SVC.
"In our search for a video conferencing solution that offered an HD quality desktop client, ease-of-use and multitenant architecture, we were fortunate to have found Vidyo," said Giorgio Benedetti, CEO of Intesys Networking. "We know our customers are looking for the best ways to save time and travel costs in their businesses. Traditional video conferencing that required expensive MCUs, were not an option. VidyoConferencing(TM) allows us to meet the needs of our customers, who now have access to the powerful Vidyo desktop client, perfect for small branch offices that, up until now, were unable to afford the cost of a high-quality HD video conferencing solution."
"With VidyoConferencing, users can spontaneously participate in enterprise-grade, HD quality video communications, no matter where they are, via the Internet," said Ofer Shapiro, CEO of Vidyo. "Organizations are deploying VidyoConferencing to foster teleworking, enable remote healthcare and to lessen employee travel time and expenses. Collaboration and productivity are greatly enhanced with Vidyo's exceptional ease-of-use and smooth, natural quality."
Vidyo's solution enables service providers to leverage compelling cost, quality and deployment advantages over those using traditional MCU-based video conferencing technologies. It also allows them to reach a far larger customer base since Vidyo products don't require dedicated networks, and scale from an HD room with telepresence quality video, to multi-party HD desktop video conferencing. Additionally, Vidyo's portal-based solution provides APIs to easily integrate with existing back office systems.
Intesys Networking was recently instrumental in deploying a complete VidyoConferencing system for the medical clinics of Dr. Constantin Stan, world-renowned aesthetic surgeon, with clinics located in Bacau and Bucharest, Romania. The clinics have been using the Vidyo solution for over four months and are reporting the highest levels of success and satisfaction using VidyoConferencing during surgical procedures, and also for communications during medical conferences and lectures throughout Europe.
