Via Worldwide Completes Brand ID for Miss USA TV Broadcast

Via Worldwide, a design and music branding firm for the global broadcasting industry headed by Emmy Award-winning Creative Director John Ridgway, has completed a brand identity package for the Miss USA show and Phil Gurin Productions of Hollywood, Calif.  The package aired Monday, April 11th on NBC.  The actual client was the Miss Universe organization, which oversees the Miss USA show pageant.

The brand package included a show logo, an 8-second opening, a 5-second bump in, a 5-second bump out; two transitions, two menu boards, two lower thirds and a sponsorship lower third with the CoverGirl logo integrated in from the show's sponsor. All graphic elements were animated and were keyed over live action. Work on the project began Jan. 31 and was completed in late March. "The challenge was to build a system for this year's Miss USA show with core branding elements that can be used in future shows and future designs, saving the client significant time and expense," explained Mr. Ridgway.

"We produced a sophisticated, elegant, contemporary look designed to clearly distinguish this year's show from pageant events of the past," Mr. Ridgway added. The Miss USA show logo and all interstitials formats were produced in Malibu, Calif. with all key broadcast elements produced at the company's studio in Singapore. All of the post-production for the graphics show package was   done at Via Worldwide's Santa Monica facility, Bread & Butter Productions.


Via Worldwide has also been contracted to provide the video graphics package for the Miss Universe pageant, which is already in production and will air from Bangkok, Thailand on May 31st 2005.
