VertigoXmedia Exec Named to Canada's Top 40 Under 40

VertigoXmedia President and CEO David Wilkins honored by The Caldwell Partners (May 03, 2005)

VertigoXmedia, a leading provider of graphics software and hardware for broadcast, cable, and digital signage, is proud to announce that President and CEO David Wilkins is a 2004 recipient of Canada's Top 40 Under 40, a prestigious national program that honors Canadians who have reached a significant level of success before the age of 40.

Wilkins has been at the helm of VertigoXmedia since it was founded in 1996, and his vision of open, digitized production environments and his guidance in the launch of patent-pending product innovations have taken VertigoXmedia from a two-person company to an international player in the broadcast graphics industry. Under his leadership, the company has grown to 35 people at its head office in Old Montreal and has experienced exponential sales growth, climbing 2400% in five years.

VertigoXmedia is a leader in graphics automation with products in daily use by many of the world's leading broadcasters. Customers include CTV, Global Television, and the CBC/SRC in Canada, as well as NBC, CNN, Time Warner Cable, and others. Its Xmedia Suite of software applications significantly streamlines the process of acquiring, managing, and controlling on-air graphics. The company has also recently launched VertigoXG, a full-featured SD/HD graphics system providing unsurpassed graphics rendering and playback performance.

Canada's Top 40 Under 40 was founded by Toronto-based The Caldwell Partners, an executive search firm, to celebrate the country's present and future leaders. Now in its tenth year, the program is designed to promote mentorship and professional development by introducing these leaders to the established business community and by promoting them as role models for young Canadians. Wilkins and his peers were selected from over 1,400 nominees by an independent advisory board comprised of business leaders from across Canada. Honorees were chosen based on five key criteria, including vision and leadership; innovation and achievement; impact; community involvement and contribution; and strategy for growth.

The 2004 recipients of Canada's Top 40 Under 40 were featured in The Globe and Mail today, May 3. In Toronto, at the beginning of May, honorees are attending a series of celebratory events including an awards ceremony at Arcadian Court.
