Version2 Creates Potent Promo Package For KojakPromo package includes logo, lower thirds, tune-in animations, top tags and transitions (March 03, 2005)
Version2 created a graphics tool kit for the series Kojak debuting in March on the USA Network
The Version2 team worked with USA Creative Director Lorenzo De Guttadauro to develop a look for the logo that would work in a stark black environment. “The goal was to create a clean-looking logo that was simple and impactful,” describes Kieran Walsh, Version2 VFX/Design Creative Director and Inferno Artist. “We shot live-action passes of the camera dollying through smoke and built a glass logo in CG.”
Inferno was utilized to combine the many layers and passes of live-action and CG. Caustic light reflections for the logo, a technique that produces scattered light through transparent objects, were composited for total integration of the logo within the CG environment.
“In the end we created a very dramatically lit logo contained within an environment that is reminiscent of a quintessential interrogation room,” concludes Frank Devlin, Version2 VFX/Design VP and Executive Producer.
The promo package also included lower thirds, tune-in animations, top tags and transitions all of which combined 3D and 2D animation.
