Verbatim Ships 40x CD Burner32x model also available
The 40x writer is an internal ATAPI-EIDE drive with support for Ultra-DMA Mode2. It has a 2 MB buffer and a typical access time of 120 ms. It writes 6,000 KB per second, rewrites 1,800 KB per second and reads 7,200 KB per second.
In addition to the 40x10x48 model, Verbatim has also started shipping its new 32x10x40 CD-RW drive (32x write, 10x rewrite, 40x read). Both models ship with CD recording software and CD labeling software, as well as Verbatim CD-R and CD-RW media. The 32x write is an internal ATAPI model with a 2 MB buffer and 100 ms access time. tt writes at 4,800 KB per second, rewrites ar 1,800 KB per second and reads at 6,000 KB per second.
The Verbatim 40x10x48 CD-RW drive sells for $179.99. The 32x10x40 CD-RW drive goes for $149.99. Both models can be installed in Macintosh and Windows systems.
