VectorWorks, Industry Series 9.5 Released Product line fully compatible with OS XBeta completed, products available (December 06, 2001)
The 9.5 updates offer all VectorWorks users numerous fixes and enhancements, which were brought about through rigorous beta testing conducted publicly from the company's website. "We knew that by having a public beta we would be able to identify scores of bugs that would go unnoticed in our controlled environment. By testing publicly, we are able to address important issues, such as printing, as a result of the many combinations of factors that open testing can produce," remarked Sean Flaherty, CTO, Nemetschek North America.
Addressed specifically in the 9.5 VectorWorks and its Industry Series are printing, stability and speed issues. Users will find extensive speed improvements in the areas of hidden line rendering, symbol manipulation, switching sheets and printing. Long-time VectorWorks users will also be pleased to know that the Trim command has returned in its original form in 9.5.
Flaherty further explained the significance of the 9.5 updates to the Mac community, "OS X represents a technological breakthrough in Apple's Mac development. Our longtime Mac users will be impressed with the robustness, as well as the significant interface enhancements that OS X offers."
