VSG Appoints Bruce Goldfeder Director of EngineeringBroadcast industry veteran brings more than 20 years expertise (June 16, 2004)
Bruce Goldfeder has been named to the position of Director of Engineering for Venue Services Group (VSG), a national systems integration firm that provides engineering, design and installation of television facilities with an emphasis on High Definition Television (HDTV) experience. Dave Shaw, president of VSG, made the announcement recently.
Goldfeder, who will be based in VSG’s headquarters in White Plains, New York, will work closely with David Raynes, Director of Engineering for Systems. Shaw said, “Bruce Goldfeder has personally been in the trenches with HDTV broadcasts since 1998 and has worked with major manufacturers and industry engineers on advancements in the field of HD. Overall, Bruce’s more than 20 years of engineering expertise is invaluable to a company such as VSG. We are fortunate to have him lead our talented engineering team.”
Goldfeder joined Venue Services Group after having spent 21 years with Madison Square Garden Network and Fox Sports Net New York, where he most recently held the position of Director of Field Operations. While at MSG, Goldfeder rose through the ranks of the engineering group to Engineer in Charge and has since become a recognized name throughout the broadcast industry.
As a hands-on engineer, Goldfeder developed and handled entire cable infrastructures for MSG, the Continental Arena, Shea Stadium, Nassau Coliseum and Radio City Music Hall. He is often asked to design and set up major broadcasts for venues such as NBC’s 1992 Olympics in Barcelona, the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, the 1998 Olympics in Nagano, the 2000 Olympics in Sydney and the 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake City. In addition, Goldfeder has handled major broadcasts for CBS at their inaugural HDTV football game in 1999 and various other national sports events including ESPN’s 1998 X-Games.
