VSDA's Home Entertainment 2006 Celebrates 25 YearsAt the Venetian Resort Hotel Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada (November 21, 2005)
VSDA's Home Entertainment 2006, the annual convention for the home entertainment industry, will take place July 11-13, 2006 at the Venetian Resort Hotel Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, organizers of the show announced today. A pre-show conference entitled indieFEST '06, with programming targeted to independent retailers is scheduled for Monday, July 10. VSDA's Home Entertainment 2006 marks the 25th annual convention of the Video Software Dealers Association (VSDA) and is produced by Home Entertainment Events.
"As VSDA gears up for its 25th annual convention, the home entertainment industry has never been stronger," said Liz Crawford, group show director. "What began as a handful of fiercely independent entrepreneurs has become a huge $24 billion-a-year business in which some of the world's largest retailers, including Wal-Mart and Best Buy, are ardent sellers of DVD. Both VSDA and its annual convention remain at the forefront of this powerful and ever-evolving business. The future holds significant growth and opportunities as high definition, the next-generation video format, and alternative delivery methods enter the market."
"We are very pleased to announce that we are returning to the Venetian, the location of Home Entertainment 2004," said spokesperson Carrie Dieterich. "In line with our continuing efforts to provide the greatest value for attendees and exhibitors at VSDA's Home Entertainment, the Venetian's expansive exhibit suites and attractive guest room rates present us with the best opportunity to have another very successful event. We have a lot of exciting events planned for the 2006 show as well. Coming off the phenomenal success of this year's event, where we enjoyed a significant increase in attendance, next year's event will be the one show not to miss!"
VSDA's Home Entertainment 2006 along with the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo are organized through Home Entertainment Events, in which the Video Software Dealers Association is a partner.
