VBrick Systems Demos VB6200 Video Appliance

(April 19, 2005)

VBrick Systems, Inc. announced VB6200, a video appliance that enables anyone with an Internet connection to capitalize on interactive video capabilities. The VB6200 is an MPEG-4 encoder/decoder that provides enterprises, government agencies and educational institutions with dynamic and reliable video via low- and medium-bandwidth IP networks.

VB6200 will be demonstrated at VBrick NAB2005 booth SL-4931. VB6200 is a self-contained portable video appliance that enables organizations to leverage real-time video as a key communications tool. Using a simple remote control, users can set-up one-way streaming or two-way conferencing sessions at a click of a button.

"VBrick enables organizations to use dynamic video anywhere there is Internet connectivity, thereby removing the complexity and performance hurdles previously associated with networked video," said Fred Geyer, chief executive officer of VBrick Systems, Inc. "Organizations using VB6200 gain access to two-way video communications and adapt seamlessly to dynamic business and organizational requirements."

VB6200 extends the reach of mission-critical video by optimizing distance learning, telemedicine, event broadcasts, and important business operations such as employee training, global sales meetings and product launches. Its most distinguishing characteristic is its versatility. VB6200 can seamlessly support interactive conferencing and webcasting to thousands of viewers globally.

"Organizations frustrated by the limits of conference calls and sparsely-attended in-person meetings are rapidly adopting video to reach new levels of flexibility," said Leo Miller, president, LTI Datacomm. "VB6200 provides important performance and agility that connects users anytime, anywhere using video."

VB6200 broadens VBrick's extensive line of IP network video solutions. Specifically, it adds MPEG-4 multicasting communications for the EtherneTV Media Distribution System, VBrick's complete system for providing live and on-demand video to computers across the network. EtherneTV enables organizations to capture, deliver, store and manage DVD-quality video distribution across networked environments and the Internet.

VB6200, which is currently available, is Internet Streaming Media Alliance (ISMA) compliant, ensuring vendor interoperability with many of the popular software and hardware decoders. VB6200 is available in the new, full duplex configuration for interactive video communications and in encoder-only and decoder-only models.
