PHILADELPHIA (AP) ' An unlicensed doctor convicted of killing two babies born alive at a Philadelphia abortion clinic is set to plead to a charge he illegally prescribed oxycodone.
Steven Massof of Pittsburgh is due in federal court on Feb. 8 to enter a plea. Federal prosecutors say he used clinic owner Kermit Gosnell's registration to prescribe controlled drugs to patients in 2006 and 2007.
The 49-year-old Massoff is one of 10 employees charged after investigators found barbaric conditions at the clinic. He has pleaded guilty to two counts of third-degree murder, and is awaiting sentencing.
Gosnell is awaiting trial on charges he killed seven babies born alive and a patient.
Massof, a foreign medical school graduate, worked for Gosnell. His lawyer did not immediately return a call for comment.
