Universal Installs Harrison MPC4-D Digital Film ConsoleBuys three MPC3-Ds and Harrison's latest MPC4-D (August 12, 2004)
Universal Studios in Hollywood has again proven itself to be the leader in film mixing technology and service with the addition of four Harrison film consoles - three MPC3-Ds and Harrison's latest, the MPC4-D.
The thirty-three feet long, 112 fader MPC4-D with 640 inputs shipped in May and is now being installed in the famed Hitchcock Theater. The remaining three consoles are fully upgraded MPC3-Ds. With the addition of the MPC4-D and the three upgrades, Universal's complement of Harrison Digital Film Consoles totals seven, including two SeriesTwelves now in use at Universal's new BluWave facility.
The new MPC4-D features built-in TFT display screens above all faders with a visual representation of Harrisons exclusive PreView waveform-envelope, channel name, stem assignments, EQ graph, dynamics graph, aux sends, input metering, and a panning display. Harrisons exclusive IKIS Automation platform as well as 2 Digital Tools Cards (DTC); featuring 64 onboard bus limiters, audio looping, and a comprehensive package of ?film specific software plug-ins, accompany this console providing post-production professionals the most full featured, up-to-date, intuitive film console available.
