Umlaut has added Jennifer Suttlemyre as the new General Manager to its executive team. She joins Executive Producer/Owner Gina LoCurcio in rounding out the strategic management duties at the young San Francisco editorial shop. Opened in September 2003 by LoCurcio and founding editors Jean Kawahara, Ed Feldman, Jessica Congdon, and Matt Graham, Umlaut has grown quickly to a roster of six editors, adding Berfin Haymes and Nathan Petty in 2005. The company resides in a loft-like 6800-square-foot space in San Francisco's SOMA /South Beach district.

"Our philosophy at Umlaut is to promote an inspired working environment and reflect that in the work we do," explains Gina LoCurcio. "We are dedicated to providing outstanding service to our clients with a good dose of fun. Jennifer is very talented and well respected in both the San Francisco and New York commercial communities. Adding her to the equation really takes Umlaut to the next level."

"Gina and I have known each other for many years now," adds Suttlemyre. "We have amazing trust and chemistry, and the same passion for the business."

Suttlemyre brings with her 11 years of commercial postproduction experience in both the San Francisco and New York markets. She was most recently the freelance post supervisor for TBWA\Chiat\Day San Francisco on the award-winning Adidas "Carry" commercial featuring Kevin Garnett. While living in New York, she worked with Lost Planet on the White Stripes "Hardest Button to Button" video directed by Michel Gondry. Before going freelance three years ago, Suttlemyre enjoyed a position as Executive Producer at Pomegranit Editorial, and prior to that, a six-year stint at Bob and Sheila's Edit World.

Since Umlaut's inception, the company has worked with a diverse group of agency clients such as Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, Publicis & Hal Riney, BBDO, Buder Engel & Friends, Attik/San Francisco, McCann-Erickson/San Francisco, AKQA and Hoffman Lewis. Completed projects include two MLS Pictures short films for Chiat Day/San Francisco, commercials for Budweiser, Comcast, Emerald Nuts, Adidas, Fox Sports, Sprint, 24 Hour Fitness, Red Bull, Toyota, and interactive spots for GameTap and AOL.

In addition to their commercial work, editors Jean Kawahara and Jessica Congdon are currently cutting independent feature films. Edward Feldman recently played the role of director on a San Francisco Film Festival trailer, as well as a music video featuring colleague Congdon and her band, Anagram. Feldman also contributed his editing talent to a comedic and quirky viral campaign for AOL through Attik/San Francisco and for GameTap with Mekanism for Mullen Advertising in Boston. Matt Graham recently completed a music video for Efata.
