Ultimatte Releases DV Bluescreen ToolAdvantEdge plugin includes video correction filter
AdvantEdge is a plugin that allows the users to create and edit bluescreen composites by dragging the cursor over areas of the foreground and background. The software then automatically analyzes the image and calculates optimum settings for various parameters. The company says the software preserves the fine details like hair, smoke and motion-blurred edges.
The included Video Correction filter reduces artifacts found in 4:2:2, 4:1:1, and 4:2:0 video image formats. It restores the lost color information in compressed video formats and reduces the blocky artifacts found in bluescreen and greenscreen composites using DV footage. Other features include:
- Advanced spill suppression with cleanup controls;
- Roto screen correction for isolating the foreground on poorly shot footage;
- Smart matte sizing for correcting the density of a traveling matte;
- Color conformance for matching the foreground color with the background color;
- Allows for the overlaying of an externally generated mask to extend the bluescreen.
AdvantEdge works with Mac OS X, Mac OS 9, Windows and Linux. It supports Adobe After Effects, Premiere and Photoshop; Apple Final Cut Pro and Shake; Avid Media Composer, Xpress and Xpress DV; and Discreet Combustion. It's available for an introductory price of $995 through Sept. 30, after which it will sell for $1,495. For more information, visit http://www.ultimatte.com.
