U.S. Dream Academy Announces "Give A Child A Dream" National Ad Campaign to Be Featured on New York Times Square CBS BillboardOrganization Teams Up With Amway to Launch 1st Phase of New National Holiday Giving Campaign for Children in Need (November 15, 2011)
WASHINGTON, DC -- (Marketwire) -- 11/15/11 -- Wintley Phipps, Founder and CEO of the U.S. Dream Academy today announced the organization's "Give A Child A Dream" new ad campaign. This is the launch of their holiday giving campaign that highlights the needs of children whose parents are incarcerated. The campaign kicked off in New York City and premiered on the CBS billboard jumbotron screen in Times Square. The Ad campaign was created, produced and sponsored by Amway, and will be featured during the month of November and is part of a three phase campaign that will roll out over the next month. The campaign is a call to action to increase awareness about the more than 2.7 million children who are suffering from having a parent incarcerated, and to get people involved, by mentoring, volunteering and donating to help continue the important work of the U.S. Dream Academy.
The ad highlights the mission of the U.S. Dream Academy to empower children who are at risk of future incarceration to maximize their potential by providing them with academic, social and values enrichment through supportive mentoring and the use of technology. The after-school mentoring and education program is in 10 cities throughout the country and has helped more than 6,500 students. The 15 second moving billboard ad will run 18 times per day for 5 weeks, throughout the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, the lighting of the Christmas tree and many other high profile events going on in New York City during the holiday season. U.S. Dream Academy students from the Salt Lake City program are featured in the ad.
