U.S. Army Recruits CAST to Manage Quality of Critical Software SystemsSoftware Assessment Platform to Identify Quality Issues and Help the Army Meet Its Current and Future IT-Based Mission Requirements (December 19, 2011)
NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 12/19/11 -- CAST, the world leader in software analysis and measurement, announced today that the United States Army Program Executive Office for Enterprise Information Systems (PEO EIS) has selected CAST's Application Intelligence Platform to optimize enterprise application performance and stability and to manage the structural quality of critical software systems proactively. In addition to optimizing the performance of mission critical application software used by the Army, CAST AIP will also augment the program's delivery governance, drive down sustainment costs and increase the reactivity of Army's applications to new requirements.
PEO EIS provides infrastructure and information management systems to the Army. It develops, acquires and deploys tactical and management information technology systems and products, while supporting the critical enterprise-wide Army ERP, Financial and Logistics systems that enable everything from supply provisioning to personnel management of troops.
"The Army PEO EIS organization has an extremely heterogeneous technical environment with over 20 major programs managing enterprise ERP systems like SAP and PeopleSoft at one end and a broad array of custom applications written in a multitude of languages, frameworks and databases," said CAST Federal Practice Director, Marc Jones. "CAST AIP is able to deliver the Army an enterprise view of structural quality risk with the necessary level of detail needed to support all levels in PEO EIS -- from third party development teams in the programs to PEO EIS executive leadership."
CAST AIP is the leading enterprise-grade software quality assessment and performance measurement solution available in the market today. It is able to read, analyze and semantically understand most kinds of source code, including scripting and interface languages, 3GLs, 4GLs and web and mainframe technologies, across all layers of an application (UI, logic and data). AIP also identifies and tracks quality issues and provides development and IT teams the data to monitor development performance. The U.S. Air Force recently certified AIP for use on standard desktop systems connected to its Global Information Grid (GIG).
"This is another enterprise example of the value of software analysis and measurement as a component of effective IT Management," said Vincent Delaroche, CAST chairman and CEO. "The U.S. Army joins a growing list of worldwide commercial and government organizations seeking to manage the quality of mission critical systems proactively and eliminate the risk of malfunctions and outages in software applications due to inferior structural quality. CAST is pleased to have earned the confidence of the U.S. Army and will proudly work with PEO EIS to achieve its vision for the rapid delivery of cost-effective, easy-to-use, IT-based capabilities to the U.S. Army mission."
CAST is a pioneer and world leader in Software Analysis and Measurement, with unique technology resulting from more than $90 million in R&D investment.
