Tribeworks Releases iShell 3 for Mac OS X

New version offers competitive upgrade for Director users By Dave Nagel
Tribeworks has released iShell 3, the latest version of the company's multimedia authoring tool. With the release of version 3.0, Tribeworks is taking the application head to head against Macromedia Director and offering a competitive upgrade for registered Director users.

iShell is a multimedia authoring environment targeted toward Internet applications, CD-ROM titles and kiosks. It offers cross-platform authoring capabilities, offering Macintosh and Windows runtimes, and supports cross-platform custom code. Other features include:

  • Centrally organized media management;
  • Support for QTVR;
  • Automatic debugging;
  • Modularized interface;
  • Mac OS X-compatible;
  • Native XML file format.

Now through Jan. 17, registered users of Macromedia Director 6 and above can upgrade to iSHell 3 for $399 or $599 for the cross-platform version. A demo version is also available for Mac OS X. For more information, visit
