TrendWatch: Apple Computer Gains Share in Effects Markets

More studios/facilities are now using the Macintosh computer as the primary workstation, According to TrendWatch. Approximately 39% of U.S. FX/dynamic media studios use Apple computers as their primary system for pipeline/production workstations. Why should you care? This number is up 11% from a year ago which suggests more studios are using Mac workstations today. Macs are used in a larger number of smaller studios while PCs dominate in larger studios and many studios use both platforms. Also, TrendWatch estimate that 20% of the U.S. studios are using Linux render nodes.
