Fact: 27% of U.S. visual effects/dynamic media studios/facilities plan to buy stock footage in 2004, up from 19% a year earlier.

Why should you care?
The number of studios planning to buy stock footage jumped from 19% in our Winter 2002-03 survey to 27% a year later in our Winter 2003-04 survey of U.S. visual effects/dynamic media companies. 19% plan to buy royalty free stock footage while 12% plan licensed use stock footage. Stock footage is popular among some of the Indie filmmakers where 37% plan to buy this year.
